Browsing, searching and reading Acts and instruments sets no cookies at all. The statute book is public and you never need to sign in to read it.
Drafters who sign in
The drafting office uses only strictly-necessary cookies, set only once you open the sign-in page. They are required for signing in and for protecting forms, and cannot be switched off. We set no analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we never share cookie data with third parties.

A first-visit notice preference is remembered in your browser's localStorage
(not a cookie), so the banner stays dismissed without storing anything extra.
Your login
Drafters sign in with their GoplexMC in-game account — the username and password set
with /register (2k6Auth). The password is checked directly by this site; it keeps its own
first-party session cookie on legislation.gov.uk.goplex.me and does not share it with the other
in-game GOV.UK sites, each of which asks you to sign in separately. See the
