Part IConstitution of Courts
1 The Supreme Court
There shall be a Supreme Court of Judicature consisting of two permanent divisions, namely His Majesty’s High Court of Justice and His Majesty’s Court of Appeal.
2 Divisions of the High Court
The High Court shall consist of three divisions:
(a)the Chancery Division;
(b)the King’s Bench Division, presided over by the Lord Chief Justice;
(c)the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Division.
Part IIJurisdiction and Appeals
3 Concurrent Law and Equity
In every civil cause or matter commenced in the High Court, law and equity shall be administered concurrently, and where there is any conflict between the rules of equity and the rules of the common law, the rules of equity shall prevail.
4 Appellate Jurisdiction
The Court of Appeal shall have jurisdiction to hear and determine appeals from any judgment or order of the High Court, subject to final appeal to the House of Lords.

5 Citation
This Act may be cited as the Supreme Court of Judicature Act.
