1 Isle of Man Constabulary

(1)There shall continue to be a single police force for the Isle of Man to be known as the Isle of Man Constabulary.

(2)The direction, disposition, and discipline of the Constabulary shall be vested in the Chief Constable of the Isle of Man, subject to the authority of the Lieutenant Governor.

Part IIPowers and Summary Penalties

2 Obstruction of Manx Constables

Any person who assaults or wilfully obstructs a constable of the Isle of Man Constabulary in the execution of his duty shall be liable on summary conviction before a High Bailiff or two justices to a fine not exceeding £20.

3 Special Constables

The Lieutenant Governor may, upon representation that a tumult, riot, or race meeting is imminent, appoint fit persons to act as special constables without salary.

4 Citation

This Act may be cited as the Isle of Man Police Act.
