Part ISafety and Ventilation
1 Duty of Mine Managers
(1)Every mine shall be under a sole manager appointed by the owner, who shall have daily personal supervision of the mine.
(2)Constantly adequate ventilation shall be produced in every mine to dilute and render harmless inflammable or noxious gases.
2 Support of Roofs and Sides
The roof and sides of every travelling road and working place shall be made secure by systematic timbering, props, or stone arches, and no person shall pass or work in any place which is not securely supported.
Part IIMineral Ownership and Royalties
3 Royal Mines and Mineral Rights
(1)All mines of gold and silver within the Realm shall remain vested exclusively in His Majesty King ob2035 by royal prerogative.
(2)Rights to search for, dig, and carry away unworked base minerals and ores shall be leased upon payment to the mineral owner of an agreed royalty not exceeding two shillings and sixpence (2s. 6d.) per ton extracted.
