Part IManagement and Afforestation
1 The Forestry Commissioners
The Forestry Commissioners shall have the general duty of promoting the establishment and maintenance of adequate reserves of growing timber throughout the Realm.
2 Restriction on Felling Trees
(1)Subject to the provisions of this Act, no person shall fell any growing tree on private or public land without a felling licence granted by the Commissioners.
(2)A licence shall not be required for the felling of trees having a diameter not exceeding three inches measured five feet from the ground, or for topping or lopping.
Part IIPenalties
3 Unlawful Felling
Any person who fells any tree without a valid licence shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £10 or twice the value of the tree, whichever is the higher.

This Act may be cited as the Forestry and Timber Resources Act.
