An Act to provide for the regulation of building construction; structural stability; drainage; and the clearance of unfit dwellings.

Part IBuilding Control and Construction
1 Structural Stability and Materials
(1)All buildings constructed within the Realm shall be designed and erected using sound materials of adequate strength to secure stability and resistance to fire.
(2)No exterior load-bearing wall shall be constructed of combustible materials unless protected by a statutory fire-resisting cladding approved by the local surveyor.
2 Drainage and Sanitation
Every newly erected domestic dwelling shall be provided with a sufficient water closet or chemical closet, and adequate drainage discharging into a public sewer or cesspool.
Part IIUnfit Housing and Demolition
3 Demolition of Unfit Structures
Where any local authority is satisfied that any dwelling-house is unfit for human habitation and not capable at reasonable expense of being made fit, they shall serve a demolition order requiring the premises to be vacated and cleared.
