Part ILicensing of Carriages
1 Hackney Carriage Licences
(1)No horse-drawn hackney carriage, cab, or motor taxi shall ply for hire within the Island without a vehicle licence issued by the Highway Board.
(2)Every driver of a hackney carriage shall wear a numbered badge supplied by the Board.
Part IIFares and Horse Tramways
2 Douglas Horse Tramway
The Douglas Corporation may continue to operate the promenade horse tramway, and the standard single fare for any distance along the promenade shall not exceed fourpence (4d.).
3 Refusal to Pay Legal Fares
Any person who hires a licensed public carriage and upon completion of the journey refuses to pay the statutory fare shown on the fare card shall be liable to a fine not exceeding £2.
