Part IWater Undertakings

1 Supply of Wholesome Water

Every statutory water undertaker shall provide a supply of wholesome water sufficient for the domestic purposes of all inhabitants within their limits of supply.

2 Water Rates

(1)Water undertakers may charge an annual water rate assessed upon the net annual value of the premises supplied.

(2)The water rate shall not exceed two shillings and sixpence (2s. 6d.) in the pound on the rateable value.

Part IIPollution of Water

3 Contamination of Public Wells

Any person who unlawfully commits any act whereby any well, spring, or reservoir used for the supply of water for domestic purposes is polluted shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £20.

This Act may be cited as the Water Supply and Public Health Act.
