Part IEspionage and Prohibited Places

1 Penalties for Spying

(1)If any person for any purpose prejudicial to the safety or interests of the State approaches, inspects, passes over, or is in the neighbourhood of any prohibited place, he shall be guilty of a felony.

(2)A person convicted under this section shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fourteen years.

2 Prohibited Places

A prohibited place includes any dockyard, military camp, arsenal, telegraph station, or government office belonging to His Majesty King ob2035.

Part IIUnauthorised Communication

3 Wrongful Communication of Information

(1)If any person having in his possession any sketch, plan, model, article, or document obtained owing to his position as a person holding office under His Majesty communicates the same to any unauthorised person, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanour.

(2)A person guilty of a misdemeanour under this section shall be liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £50.

4 Citation

This Act may be cited as the Official Secrets Act.
