Part IBoards of Guardians
1 Parish Poor Relief Guardians
There shall be an elected Board of Guardians for the poor in each town and parish of the Island, charged with administering relief to infirm, aged, and destitute residents.
2 Poor Rates
The Guardians may levy a poor rate upon the net annual value of all rateable property, not exceeding one shilling (1s.) in the pound in any one financial year.
Part IIOutdoor and Indoor Relief
3 Relief Conditions
Relief may be administered as outdoor subsistence payments or by accommodation in the Home for the Poor, provided that no able-bodied person refusing work shall receive relief.

This Act may be cited as the Isle of Man Poor Relief Act.
