An Act of Tynwald to consolidate the criminal law relating to larceny, embezzlement, false pretences, and malicious injury to property; and for connected purposes.

Part ILarceny and False Pretences

1 Simple Larceny

(1)A person steals who, without the consent of the owner, fraudulently and without colour of right, takes and carries away anything capable of being stolen with intent permanently to deprive the owner.

(2)Simple larceny shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.

2 Obtaining Money by False Pretences

Whosoever shall by any false pretence obtain from any other person any chattel, money, or valuable security, with intent to cheat or defraud, shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.

Part IIMalicious Injury to Property

3 Damage to Real or Personal Property

Any person who wilfully or maliciously commits any damage to any real or personal property whatsoever shall be liable on summary conviction before the High Bailiff to a fine not exceeding £20.

4 Citation

This Act may be cited as the Isle of Man Criminal Code and Theft Act.
