Part IPerjury
1 Perjury in Judicial Proceedings
(1)If any person lawfully sworn as a witness or interpreter in a judicial proceeding wilfully makes a statement material in that proceeding which he knows to be false or does not believe to be true, he shall be guilty of perjury.
(2)A person convicted of perjury on indictment shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years, or to a fine, or to both.
2 False Statements on Oath Otherwise than in Proceedings
If any person, being required or authorised by law to make any statement on oath for any purpose, wilfully makes a false statement, he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.
