Part IReceiving Orders and Adjudication
1 Acts of Bankruptcy
A debtor commits an act of bankruptcy if he departs out of the Realm with intent to defeat or delay his creditors, or fails to satisfy a bankruptcy notice demanding £50 or more.
2 The Official Receiver
Upon the making of a receiving order, an Official Receiver shall be constituted receiver of the property of the debtor, and all private attachments against the debtor's estate shall cease.
Part IIDistribution of Property
3 Preferential Debts
In the distribution of the property of a bankrupt, there shall be paid in priority to all other debts:
(a)all parochial and local rates and taxes due within one year;
(b)wages of any clerk or servant not exceeding £50;
(c)wages of any labourer or workman not exceeding £25.
