1 General Interpretation

In every Act of Tynwald, words importing the masculine gender include females, and words in the singular include the plural, unless the contrary intention appears.

2 Definitions

(1)"The Lord of Mann" or "the Sovereign" means His Majesty King OB2035, His Heirs and Successors according to law.

(2)"The Governor" means the Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man for the time being.

(3)"Tynwald" means the Lieutenant Governor, the Council, and the House of Keys in Tynwald assembled.

Part IIPromulgation

3 Promulgation on Tynwald Hill

Every Act of Tynwald shall be promulgated upon Tynwald Hill on the fifth day of July, and a certificate of promulgation signed by the Governor and the Speaker of the House of Keys shall be conclusive evidence thereof.

4 Citation

This Act may be cited as the Isle of Man Interpretation Act.
