Part IExecution of Wills
1 Validity of Testamentary Instruments
(1)No will executed in the Island shall be valid unless it is signed at the foot thereof by the testator in the presence of two credible witnesses present together, who shall attest the same.
(2)Any legacy, devisal, or beneficial gift made to an attesting witness shall be utterly null and void.
Part IIDistribution and Widow's Right
2 Intestate Devolution
Where any person dies intestate possessing real or personal estate in the Island:
(a)the surviving widow or widower shall be entitled to one-half of the personal estate absolutely;
(b)the remainder of the estate shall divide equally among the children of the deceased.
Part IIIProbate
3 Grant of Probate
Probate of wills and letters of administration shall be granted exclusively by the High Court of Justice (Common Law Division) of the Isle of Man.

4 Citation
This Act may be cited as the Isle of Man Wills and Intestate Estates Act.
