An Act to recognise the constitutional office of Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury; to establish the Cabinet; to regulate the King's Privy Council; and for connected purposes.

Part IThe Prime Minister and the Cabinet
1 Office of Prime Minister
(1)There shall be a Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, who shall be appointed by His Majesty King OB2035 from among the members of the House of Commons commanding the confidence of that House.
(2)The Prime Minister shall hold the ancient office of First Lord of the Treasury and shall have official residence at No. 10 Downing Street.
(3)The Prime Minister shall be the principal adviser to His Majesty on the exercise of the royal prerogative, the dissolution of Parliament, and the appointment of ministers.
2 The Cabinet
(1)There shall be a Cabinet of Ministers, presided over by the Prime Minister, consisting of the principal Secretaries of State and heads of government departments.
(2)The Cabinet shall be collectively responsible to Parliament for the general conduct of executive government.
(3)No person shall hold office as a member of the Cabinet unless he has taken the oath of a Privy Counsellor.
Part IIThe Privy Council
3 His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council
(1)The Privy Council of His Majesty King OB2035 shall advise the Crown on the making of Orders in Council, royal charters, and matters of state.
(2)The Clerk of the Privy Council shall maintain the register of members sworn into His Majesty's Privy Council.

4 Citation
This Act may be cited as the Prime Minister and Executive Government Act.
