Part IThe Postal Privilege
1 Exclusive Privilege of the Postmaster General
(1)The Postmaster General shall have the exclusive privilege of conveying all letters from one place to another and of performing all incidental services of receiving, collecting, and delivering letters within the Realm.
(2)Any person who infringes this privilege shall be liable to a fine not exceeding £5 for every letter conveyed.
2 Inland Letter Rates
The standard inland rate of postage for an ordinary letter not exceeding one ounce in weight shall be threepence (3d.).
Part IITelecommunications
3 Public Telephone Call Offices
(1)The Postmaster General may establish and maintain public telephone call offices connected to the telephone network.
(2)The standard fee for a local call from a coin-operated public telephone kiosk shall be fourpence (4d.).

This Act may be cited as the Post Office and Telecommunications Act.
