Part ISearch and Arrest Powers
1 Search of Suspected Persons
(1)A constable of the Isle of Man Constabulary may stop, search, and detain any person or conveyance if he has reasonable suspicion that stolen property, uncustomed goods, or offensive weapons are being conveyed.
(2)A constable shall not search a person under this section without first informing him of the grounds of suspicion.
2 Powers of Summary Arrest
A constable may arrest without warrant:
(a)any person who commits any felony within his view;
(b)any person reasonably suspected of having committed a felony within the Island;
(c)any person found loitering by night who cannot give a satisfactory account of himself.

3 Warning and Statements of Accused
(1)When a constable is investigating an offence and has formed the intention to charge a person, he shall administer the caution before questioning or recording any statement.
(2)Statements made after caution shall be taken down in writing, read over to the person, and signed by him if he chooses to sign.
4 Production Before a High Bailiff
Every person arrested and taken into custody shall be brought before the High Bailiff or a court of summary jurisdiction as soon as practicable, and in any event within twenty-four hours of apprehension, unless admitted to police bail with or without sureties.

5 Search Warrants
A High Bailiff or justice of the peace may grant a warrant to search any house, building, or vessel where there is reasonable cause to suspect that stolen goods or instruments of felony are kept.
