An Act to consolidate and regulate the law relating to betting, licensed betting offices, gaming houses, and public lotteries.

Part IStreet Betting and Licensed Offices
1 Street Betting Prohibition
(1)Any person frequenting or loitering in any street or public place for the purpose of bookmaking or betting shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding £10.
(2)A constable may arrest without warrant any person found committing an offence under this section.
2 Licensed Betting Offices
(1)Betting on premises shall be lawful only in licensed betting offices holding a permit granted by the licensing justices.
(2)No licensed betting office shall exhibit any television broadcast, radio commentary, or provide refreshments to the public, nor admit any person under eighteen years of age.
Part IILotteries
3 Restriction on Lotteries
All lotteries promoteable for private gain are unlawful, save for small registered lotteries incidental to charitable, sporting, or societal entertainments where the total value of tickets sold does not exceed £750.
